Creamy Garlic Parmesan Pasta
Ingredients
(Serves 4)
- 300g (10 oz) pasta (spaghetti, penne, or fettuccine)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Cook the Pasta
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions in salted water. Drain, reserving about 1 cup of pasta water.
2. Make the Garlic Parmesan Sauce
- In a large pan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine.
- Let the mixture simmer for about 3-4 minutes until it starts to thicken.
3. Add Parmesan & Seasoning
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until it melts and the sauce becomes creamy.
- Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste.
4. Combine Pasta & Sauce
- Add the cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly.
- If the sauce is too thick, add some reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach the desired consistency.
5. Serve
- Plate the pasta and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
- (Optional) Add extra grated Parmesan or a sprinkle of crushed red pepper for some heat.
